OTCU Shake
Natural, loopable camera shake with real motion blur. For After Effects and Premiere Pro, part of OTCU FX.
Camera shake that feels handheld, not random
- Four kinds of motion: smooth, twitchy bursts, sudden jumps with drift, and handheld drift with a slight tremor.
- A real camera move: X, Y and Z, tilt, and 3D pan and pitch, combined in one perspective.
- Motion blur that follows the movement, frame by frame.
- Impacts: a hit that decays, repeated as often as you like; fade the shake in and out.
- Loops seamlessly over a length you choose; a seed gives a different take.
- Color channel shake for chromatic looks.
- 14 built-in presets: Handheld, Walking, Running, Vehicle, Earthquake, Explosion, Impact Hit, Rumble, Drunk, Twitchy Nerves, Glitch Jumps, Heartbeat, Floating and Chromatic Shake.
Every frame is worked out from the time alone, so the shake renders the same in any order, also with multi-frame rendering.
How fast it renders
0.14 ms per 1080p frame on the GPU (CUDA). Measured per frame at 1080p on an Intel i9-12900KF with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti. Your times depend on your machine, settings and footage.
Questions
Is OTCU Shake sold on its own?
No. It is part of OTCU FX, together with Glow and Drop Shadow: $50 once with a year of updates, or $40 a year. The 14-day trial starts by itself when you install it.
Can the shake loop?
Yes. Set the loop length and the shake repeats seamlessly, for backgrounds and motion graphics that loop.
Does it work in Premiere Pro?
Yes. The same effect appears in Premiere Pro under OTCU FX.
Is there a Mac version?
Not yet. OTCU FX is for Windows. A macOS version is planned.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- After Effects or Premiere Pro 2024 or newer
- A CPU with AVX2 (any CPU that runs After Effects 2024 or newer)
- GPU rendering in After Effects: DirectX 12 or an NVIDIA CUDA graphics card (optional)
- An internet connection for activation, then it works offline
